Community Mobilization

In line with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.’s national Strategic Partnerships Task Force, the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter’s Community Mobilization Committee seeks to connect and engage with agencies and organizations whose missions align with the mission and vision of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and will continue the legacy of global service that will empower our communities.

Washington DC Alumnae Chapter (WDCAC), through its Community Mobilization Committee, continues to support these partnerships, collectively known as Project 13.  These partnerships have included raising funds and participating in the March of Dimes Walk to improve the health of mothers and babies; encouraging members to support and join the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); raising funds and participating in the St. Jude’s Walk in order to advance cures and preventions for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment; Health fairs to support the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association; raising funds for Sisters Network; and supporting the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) .

Additionally, we provide professional and personal development job readiness training to women at New Endeavors by Women who are transitioning back to the workforce; participate in Comcast Cares Day; and volunteer and provide financial assistance to So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.) and Food and Friends.

We are always looking to partner with other organizations that provide relevant and life changing programs for those that are in need.  If that is your organization, please contact us at community@wdcacdst.org.
