Charter Day Giving Campaign

The Legacy Continues: Celebrating 104 Years of Service

In the heart of Washington DC, a legacy was born on February 3, 1921, under the visionary leadership of Past National President Gabrielle Dorothy Pelham Beckley, the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter (WDCAC) was officially recognized, marking a significant milestone in the history of our Sorority. Originally chartered as Beta Beta and later known as Beta Sigma, WDCAC proudly stands as the Sorority’s second alumnae chapter.

Since its inception, WDCAC has served countless D.C. residents through comprehensive community programming aligned with the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, Physical and Mental Health, International Awareness and Involvement, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Through diverse initiatives, WDCAC continues to make a profound impact on the social, educational, and cultural fabric of Washington D.C. The breadth of WDCAC’s impact and strategic partnerships is undeniable.

We are excited to launch our chapter’s Inaugural Charter Day Giving Campaign as we approach this 104th anniversary of this historic chapter on February 3, 2025. We invite you to join us in commemorating the pioneering spirit of the nine graduates who laid the foundation for our enduring legacy.
