Rooted In Legacy
Chartered in 1921, the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter (WDCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has upheld a proud legacy of excellence, service, and sisterhood for over 100 years. Home to two of the Sorority’s Founders and five National Presidents, WDCAC remains a driving force for positive change across the nation’s capital through its deep commitment to community engagement and empowerment.
Why It Matters
“All of my success would not be possible without the help and support of my sorors at WDCAC. The dedication to my future from women like those of WDCAC have influenced me to not only join our sorority, but continue my dedication to our community and my education.”
Jala Grant2018 - 2021 WDCAC Scholarship recipient
“…I once again express my thanks for helping me fund my education at the University of Chicago... I wanted to thank you all for helping allow me to have this experience without the stress of financial burden hanging over my head. I hope to continue my good work in the future.”
Philip O’Sullivan2016 -2019 WDCAC Scholarship recipient
“Words cannot describe how grateful I am for your continued financial support. It is with deep sincerity that I express my profound gratitude to everyone who made this scholarship possible. Your belief in the power of education has reminded me that hard work does pay off.”
Alexander Liesegang2023 - 2025 WDCAC Scholarship recipient, University of California, Davis
“I can’t thank you enough for your generosity in selecting me for this scholarship. I will always be grateful for the investment that the WDCAC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has made in me. Your generosity is helping me to achieve my goal of attending the University of Maryland (UMD) in College Park.”
Justin A. Clark2025 WDCAC Scholarship recipient, School Without Walls High School
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for being selected as a recipient of the Trunk Scholarship Award. Your generosity is helping to make my educational journey possible, and I am truly thankful.”
Dania Najah Abdalla2025 WDCAC Scholarship recipient, Jackson-Reed High School
“I am honored to receive a scholarship from your prestigious institution. You can only do so much by yourself; thus, it takes a village to raise a child. This will have an enormous impact on my college education expenses and help elevate me, reducing the financial burden on my family and me. I will carry it forward and make a difference in this next chapter of my life.”
Lee Matthew Thomas2025 WDCAC Scholarship recipient, McKinley Technology High School
“I am incredibly honored and grateful to be selected for the WDCAC Continuing Student Scholar Award. This generous award not only eases the financial burden of college, but also motivates me to keep working hard and striving for excellence. Thank you for believing in my potential and for continuing to support my academic and personal growth.”
