Thank you for visiting our website. As President, I am honored to welcome you and invite you to learn more about our chapter’s rich legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.

Chartered on February 3, 1921, by nine visionary women, the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter has proudly served our nation’s capital for more than a century. Through volunteer service, scholarships, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, our members have worked tirelessly to expand opportunities, strengthen communities, and improve lives. We are grateful for the many organizations and supporters who join us in this work.

Today, with nearly 600 members representing multiple generations of Delta women, our chapter continues to build upon more than a century of service by advancing the mission of Delta Sigma Theta through programs and initiatives guided by the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

• Economic Development
• Educational Development
• International Awareness and Involvement
• Physical and Mental Health
• Political Awareness and Involvement

In addition, our chapter supports Arts and Letters and other National and Eastern Regional initiatives that broaden our programming, strengthen our sisterhood, and enhance our service.

As a member of the Dynamic and Historic Eastern Region, our chapter joins other chapters across the region in carrying forward the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

As we continue this work, we do so guided by a simple belief: Connected in Sisterhood. Committed to Service. By fostering strong connections among our members, we strengthen our ability to answer the call to serve, respond to evolving needs, and leave a lasting impact.
